Do not underestimate me
I am Alcoholism
I play games
You can drink beer
There’s merrymaking
Come in here
Believe me you will pay dear
Forget the times when you felt ill
You’ll be okay, just take your fill
Back on the treadmill
Your mind it screams
You want to shout
The pain you feel just won’t come out’
The loved one’s frown, they weep they cry
But secretly you go and buy
You hide you drink
You are on the brink
How dare they pour it down the sink
I only want my little treat
Unsteady now can’t feel my feet
I can’t remember yesterday
I can’t remember how to pray
I’m cut I’m bruised, I have such pain
I awoke this morning in the rain
Another drink may keep me sane……

Your pain is my gain
I am Alcoholism
I will tell you lies
I will tell you I’m not here
And you will deny that I am here
I will cost you more than money
I will strip you of your possessions
I will remove your freedom of choice
I will remove you from your home
I will remove you from your loved ones
I will destroy your body
I will destroy your mind
I will wet your brain

I would kill you
And walk over your dead body
And it is I that your loved ones will remember
They will whisper my name
“What happened?”
Alcoholism….
“Oh no!”
I am cunning… I am baffling…
And I am OH SO Powerful
ARE YOU STILL DYING FOR A DRINK?
